HEATING COMPONENTS
The electric heating system is based on:
- Electrical heating elements which generate heat when electrically powered
- Contactors, which manage the power supply to heating elements
The heating is entrusted to elements that surround the fan; the air flow generated by the fan cools the resistances and at the same time distributes the heat in the cooking cabinet.
Depending on the model you can have one or two heating elements, one per fan.
To avoid damaging the resistances, the heating is activated at 100% power only if the speed is high; activates at 50% power if speed is low.
Heating element Test
A digital multimeter and a insulation tester are required to evaluate the replacement of element.
Each element has its own ohm value based on the power and supply voltage, we therefore recommend checking it, after electrically insolating all the element terminal connections from the rest of the system, with the multimeter in Ohm.
Heating element Test
- if the value is about 0 ohm the element is in short (also check the resistance between terminals and ground that must be infinite)
- if the value is infinite then the element is open
- If the element measures a few ohms, depending on the power and voltage (R=V2/W), then it is functional
Contattori
C2 manage the half power heating.
C3 is activated in case unit need full power heating
Depending if unit has one or two fans control is managed as below
